If I could give this cruel place of horrors zero stars I would. This place is a complete nightmare. I was hospitalized at this hospital twice, the first time was terrible, However the second time was a complete traumatic nightmare. That I don’t think I will ever recover from .I had a double level spinal fusion surgery performed from L4-S1 at the hospital by an orthopedic surgeon who is not employed by this hospital. I was readmitted a week later due to complications from the surgery which required a second surgery. No less than 24 hours after the second surgery a nurse employed by this hospital dropped me directly on my back and on the incision that was freshly sutured less that 24 hours .this accrued while the nurse attempted to assist me to the bathroom without the help of other staff members going against all safety protocols with a complete lack of empathy, compassion, or care while doing so. I was in extreme pain and distress after I was dropped, the worst I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. However it took the staff’s approximately 30 minutes to get me off the bathroom floor and onto the bed and a additional 2 hours to get X-ray images of my spine to see if the fall

I was a patient at the hospital who had a 2 level spinal fusion done by an orthopedic surgeon who was from an outside facility and not employed by this hospital. He and his team were exceptional and performed a perfect live changing operation. However the hospital nursing staff who were employed by capital health were the exact opposite. Especially a nurse who was identified by the name of Melissa. This nurse has absolutely no humanity, decency or empathy towards myselt and other patients in her care while I was hospitalized in room 216, 1 hour post opp and experiencing extreme pain and discomfort she refused to provide assistance and told me things that made me feel less than nothing. This was the most difficult and painful experience I've ever had in my entire life.as a result of this I am now seeking therapy in hopes to recover from this painful experience. Please don't bring your loved ones to this hospital for any reason whatsoever as they would be treated with better humanity by a complete stranger on the street. I only hope no one is ever traumatized like I have been when I was in the most painful and vulnerable state l've ever been in my entire existenceπŸ˜’πŸ˜’πŸ™

I came to the ER physically exhausted, vomiting, weak, unable to eat or sleep properly, and struggling to safely function at home. I understand emergency departments are busy, but my experience left me feeling dismissed rather than stabilized. After multiple painful IV attempts that left significant bruising, I received fluids, crackers, and was discharged while still feeling extremely unwell and overwhelmed. What patients in situations like this need is not just temporary treatment, but compassion, communication, dignity, and appropriate follow-up planning β€” especially when someone is clearly struggling physically and emotionally. I hope the hospital continues improving how vulnerable patients are treated during difficult medical situations.

I am extremely disappointed with the handling of my elderly mother’s care through the Central Scheduling Office at Capital Health. My mother had a mammogram at the beginning of April and, just a couple of days later, received a phone call from Capital Health advising her that she needed to return for additional imaging because they saw something that required further attention. About a week later, she also received a letter stating that additional imaging was needed immediately and instructing her to contact her PCP for a new prescription and schedule the follow-up appointment as soon as possible. Her PCP faxed the prescription to Capital Health the very same day. However, when my mother called in mid-April to schedule the additional imaging, she was given an appointment for JULY 30th β€” over 3 months away. If there is concern that something could potentially be cancerous, how is it acceptable to make a patient wait three months for follow-up imaging? To make matters worse, I personally attempted to call Central Scheduling to see if an earlier appointment was available. I was placed on hold for over 53 minutes without speaking to anyone. I called back again and remained on hold f

When we got the call yesterday that my fiance's surgery was being transferred to Capital Health. I was apprehensive. I read the reviews and frankly they weren't great. But I quickly realized that most of them were about the facility itself (ie. Cleanliness, modernization, etc) and not about the level of care. When you filter that out, the reviews are much better. We arrived early today and everyone was absolutely wonderful. From the lady checking us in to the coffee shop and everyone in between, the level of care and consideration was outstanding. Erin, the Recovery Room nurse went above and beyond - reaching out, coming to the lobby to bring things back to him, and calling to keep me informed. The operating room staff was equally outstanding, each person we met was as pleasant and accommodating as the next. Even the woman in the coffee shop was helpful - filling my thermos with ice and water. Yes. The reviews are correct. The hospital is a bit run down. A bit under staffed and occasionally not as immaculate as you want in the public areas, but the most important thing is level of care, and that was awesome. UPDATE: it took HOURS to transfer him to a room aft
